Set across mature parkland in North County Dublin, Donabate Golf Club offers three beautifully maintained nine-hole loops: Red, Blue, and Yellow – playable in multiple combinations. With water features, tree-lined fairways, and USGA-standard sand-based greens, the course provides year-round playability and a rewarding challenge for golfers of all levels.

The Red, Blue, and Yellow nines each offer their own character and challenges. From precision-required tee shots to risk-reward approach play. Rotated regularly for variety, these layouts allow members and visitors to experience a different course every round.
Championship-Calibre Greens
All 27 holes feature sand-based, USGA-standard greens that roll true in every season. Their speed, contouring, and consistency make for a rewarding putting experience and allow play throughout the year, even in wetter conditions.
A True Parkland Experience
Mature trees, water hazards, and thoughtfully placed bunkers frame each hole and demand smart shot selection. The layout rewards good course management while remaining accessible and enjoyable for mid-to-high handicappers.

Essential Rules and Dress Code for a Respectful Golf Experience

Player Conduct

Dress Code
Proper golf attire is required; no denim or inappropriate clothing is allowed.
Drainage Works
Donabate Golf Club is undergoing some very exciting times and is investing in its course to ensure members and guests enjoy golf all year round.
We have entered into a very successful partnership with Sports Turf Practitioners, and under the guidance of the club’s agronomist, Gerry Byrne, our golf course is already seeing a huge improvement in presentation and playability. It is our aim to improve our course year on year going forward.
Drainage: In 2023, investment in drainage was undertaken. With the 18 months of rain that followed, this drainage work proved very successful, and the decision was made to undertake a further major investment in drainage. By December 2024, drainage work on 18 holes will be completed. These works are a demonstration of our commitment to members and guests to offer them a golf course in excellent condition on a year-round basis. Furthermore, it will enable us to remain open and much more readily available in wet weather conditions. Given the amount of rain that fell from January 2023 to May 2024, the advantage of this drainage work cannot be overemphasised.
