Sitting here in the plus 20 heat and lovely sunshine. It has struck me that very few including myself prepare for golfing in the sun. Most will put on their golf shoes gloves even a Golf hat however who puts on sun-screen? We all know the dangers of over exposure to harmful UV rays from the sun and still take little action. The Diagram below Slip, Slap, Slop refers to a simple 3 step way of dealing with Sun exposure:
Slip: Slip on clothing to cover exposed areas Arms and legs
Slop: Slop on Sun Screen factor recommended 30+, 20 minutes prior to going out in the Sun. Bring cream with you to top up or offer to someone who forgot theirs.
Slap: Slap on a wide rim hat that shades ears and neck.
Follow the simple steps above and don’t forget if you notice some area of skin showing changes consult your doctor now. Consult the Irish cancer society web site for further information.
