AIG Pierce Purcell Shield 2017

Named after Professor Purcell, one of Ireland’s outstanding golf administrators, from the 1920s to 1960s, it was won first by Masserene, in 1970. Five foursome pairings represent each club, comprised of minimum individual handicaps of 12 and minimum combined of 27. Galway, Muskerry, St. Annes and Warrenpoint have all won this shield more than once.

Qualifying Round at Rush – Saturday 13th May – Donabate was leading qualifier with 342 (83+85+86+88)

District Final at Rush – Donabate v Skerries – Sunday 14th May from 8am – Donabate won 3-2

Leinster Playoff v Malahide – Saturday 10th of June at Corrstown – Donabate lost 1.5-3.5
