Donabate Golf Club has been my home Club since joining as a Junior Member. The incredible support, encouragement and friendship from the members over the years and the excellent practice facilities have contributed greatly to my successes and the opportunity of playing to International Level. These top class facilities and a challenging course have attracted a number of International and National events over the years. I am so proud to be a member of Donabate Golf Club.
I have had the honour of playing for Leinster and Ireland over the years and have always had the support of the members of Donabate Golf Club. Having a 27 hole course and the availability of course time along with excellent practice facilities play no small part in the success of its members on the International stage.
Professional guidance and support is available at the club and I was introduced to the club professional Danny Sheehan. I have found Danny to be a wonderful instructor, and at any level. Finding something good in all players, and encouragingly builds on both ability and confidence. I still consider myself very new to both the game and to Donabate Golf Club, but both proud and comfortable to call it, my club, and Home.
Donabate Golf Club gave me a wonderful grounding and support as a youngster starting to play golf for which I am extremely grateful. Hugh Jackson continued to be my coach and friend right up and until his untimely passing in September 2015. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Donabate Golf Club and particularly the junior section both boys and girls, every success in golf for the future.
Our Society played Donabate Golf Club four times over the last two years. The course was always well presented and the option of playing a different 9 holes for the 2nd outing added additional variety. All 27 holes are a very good test of golf. The staff in the office, pro shop and the bar couldn’t be more helpful. The clubhouse facilities are top notch and the restaurant provided us with an appealing menu.
The Captain and Lady Captain, together with members and staff of Donabate Golf Club, are always ready to offer a warm and friendly welcome to all our visitors. Located off the M1 only 12 minutes from Dublin Airport Donabate Golf Club is a fair but challenging 27 hole parkland course with high quality greens all year round.
